Researcher Development

Introducing research posters

To begin, think about why you might present a poster. What are some of the benefits of presenting a poster? Are there benefits compared to giving a presentation? Jot down some ideas on paper or in a Word document.

Download the planning sheet to complete as you work through this module. Think about a poster presentation you have coming up, or if you don’t have a poster presentation planned, plan a poster based on your current research or research proposal. Fill your poster topic in on the planning sheet, and then fill in some ideas for the four basics of research communication, as they relate to your poster presentation: 1) what is your message? 2) who are your audience? 3) what is the environment in which you will engage your audience? 4) (how) can you measure your impact?
